Random Act of Kindness

Atrocities happens everywhere and every day in this world but the society is way too busy to notice and even care about this issue. Every second millions die because the world ignores to lend a hand to those people who are in need. Now that I am fully aware that such things still exists in this present time, I am prepared to take little steps to improve my life as well as the world around me.
Change is not possible if a person does not know how to appreciate and accept himself and the things that he has. From now on, I am trying to be content of who I am and what I have in my life. It is challenging but everything is worth it in the end. As human beings, judging other people is as easy as a snap for us to do. We tend to judge them by their sense of style, how they look and sometimes by their skin color. But now that I realize that saying one word can have a great effect in a person’s life, I try to think as many times as I can before I speak. For the past years in my life, I have been insecure about my physical appearance. It has been a struggle for me to love myself until this present time. However, as I come across different people and hear stories, I am grateful that I haven’t been in that kind of situation before. I used to complain about how stressful it is to have two or three homework each day. However, after seeing the children on television wanting to go to school, I realize that I am fortunate to be in school and learn new things to have a great future.

There are millions or even more actions that a person can do to change the world. Yet, most of us choose not to because of the psychological fact that someone is out there to help the people who are in need.  One of the issues that a typical high school student like me can encounter is bullying. It happens every second and it kills thousands of children and teenagers every day. If I ever come across someone who is being bullied, I will stand up for them and let him/her know that I can be his/her friend. I am also willing to be a listener if someone is going through some hardships not only about school matters but as well as personal matters. A simple smile can also help to change the mood of a person that is not yet ready to open up to others who can help him/her. Volunteering is also one of the million ways that can change the world. By simply starting in my circle of friends with their homework, a seatmate who is having a hard time finishing the assignment, and an elderly neighbour who is having a back pain whenever he’s mowing the lawn, these simple acts can lead to bigger ones. “Random Acts of Kindness” can create a domino effect in the society if we all work together as one. . Summer time is coming and one of my goals is to volunteer for organizations that help children and people that are in need not only locally but as well as internationally. I am also considering in joining the military to be able to lend a hand to the countries where endless bombarding is a typical scenario in a child's eye. Each one of us can do something. It does not matter how small or big it is, the important thing is that action is taking place.
